MD-AEP's Environmental Leadership Series kicked off in January 2009. These 2-3 hour forums are hosted by leading corporate and scientific groups to help showcase the vast array of environmental capability residing in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Leadership events have occurred at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science, Coca-Cola Enterprise, Battelle, Zephyr Environmental Corporation, the University of Maryland ESSIC Climate Change Center and Cecil County’s Office of Economic Development in partnership with Spiralcat of Maryland, Unionville Equine, Cargill and AET Consulting. Falls programs are slated with the University of Maryland College of Agriculture and Natural Resources on October 1 in College Park and for I.M. Systems Group in Rockville in late October.
MD-AEP will work in partnership with each host organization to ensure the desired attendance. Each event will be a hosted on site so that Maryland's leaders can provide an overview of their mission and how they are making an environmental impact which could be replicated in Asia. This outreach series is part of MD-AEP’s effort to mobilize the region's "environmental assets" including technology and academic centers of excellence as we look to build public-private partnerships for environmental business in Asia. For more information on hosting a future event, contact Peter Gourlay, President of the Maryland-Asia Environmental Partnership at peter.gourlay@mdaep.com or at 443-275-2489.
Mark your calendars for December 3 as MD-AEP celebrates its two year anniversary and highlights the region's environmental leadership at our inaugural MD-AEP Environmental Leadership Banquet in Annapolis, Maryland. This promises to be a can't miss event as MD-AEP will invite political, government and non-government leaders as well as the media to hear about these great models.
