Beth A. Wong currently is the Associate Director of the Multicultural Affairs Division with Prince George’s County Office of Community Relations. She was born, raised and educated in Manila, Philippines and has been a resident of Silver Spring, Maryland for the past 13 years. Ms. Wong graduated at Lyceum of the Philippines with a double major in International Relations and Political Science. Additionally, she’s a JD graduate and had practiced law in the area of corporate & government relations. She also attended University of MD University College to pursue Graduate Degree in Human Resources Management.
A leader in the Filipino-American community and the larger Asian American community, Beth Wong is a community activist, dedicated volunteer who has given voice and visibility to the issues and concerns of minorities. As a full time working mother with 2 grown up children and married to a nuclear engineer, she has been an active and strong advocate of Parent Teacher Association (PTA), where she served in numerous capacities such as President of elementary and middle school PTA’s, Vice President of county council PTA and MD State PTA. Ms. Wong holds various positions in different advisory committees and organization such as Board of Trustee for the Mrs. Senior Philippines in Oxon Hill, Board Member of the Organization of Chinese American, Philippine American Community Partnership, Korean American Association of Maryland, Multicultural Alliance of Prince George’s County, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Philippine American Bar Association. Additionally, she’s an active member and executive officers of different ethnic organization in the Greater Washington area.
Prior to joining Prince George’s County, Ms. Wong previously worked with ACDIVOCA, an International Food Development Organization in Washington DC as an Assistant Director of Human Resources. Previously, she was a benefits consultant with Children’s Hospital and Washington Adventist Hospital and a legal consultant in a law firm based in Manila Philippines.
